Sir Simon Lawrance Gass CVO KCMG (born November 2, 1956 ) is a British diplomat .

Life

Simon Lawrance Gass joined the foreign service in 1977. From 1979 to 1983 he was employed in Lagos , Nigeria . From 1984 to 1987 he was employed in Athens . From 1987 to 1992 he was employed in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office in London. From 1992 to 1995 he was employed in Rome . From 1995 to 1998 he was employed at the FCO in London. From 1998 to 2001 he was Deputy High Commissioner (Commonwealth) in Pretoria . From 2004 to 2008 he was ambassador to Athens. From 2009 to October 2011 he was ambassador to Tehran . Since April 14, 2011 he has been the representative of the North Atlantic Council in Kabul .
