Simon Gegenheimer (born December 17, 1988 in Karlsruhe ) is a German mountain biker and runner-up in the Cross Country Eliminator world championship (2016).

Career

His focus is on all mountain bike disciplines, the Olympic cross-country , the mountain bike marathon and the cross-country sprint .

In 1999 Simon Gegenheimer competed in his first mountain bike race. In 2012, 2013 and 2016 he won the German championship in cross-country sprint.

In June 2016 he became Vice World Champion in the Cross Country Eliminator in the Czech Republic. In the same year he finished fourth in the UCI Mountain Bike Eliminator World Cup ranking.

In September 2019, Simon Gegenheimer won his sixth World Cup competition in Valkenswaard , beating the three-time world champion, the French Titouan Perrin-Ganier
