Simon Hofer (born July 22, 1981 ) is a Swiss football player .
He started his football career at SC Steinhausen . His talent was recognized early on by FC Luzern , which guided the young player to his junior division in 1997. In 1999 the midfielder sniffed the National League A for the first time . In the following seasons up to 2004, the Zuger played a total of 50 competitive games (6 goals) for FCL.
From the 2004/05 season he wore the colors of SC Cham , with which he was able to achieve the surprising promotion to the Challenge League in 2007 . From 2010 to 2013 Hofer played at FC Baar before ending his career.
Simon Hofer went through all junior selections of the Swiss Football Association from the U15 to the U21 . With 55 appearances (3 goals) he is after Rainer Bieli one of the players with the most games in the junior national team.
