Simon Lapointe (born August 18, 1993 in Gatineau ) is a Canadian cross-country skier .

Career

Lapointe made his international debut as part of the cross-country skiing Nor-Am-Cup in January 2011 in Thunder Bay . In the winter of 2013/14 he achieved his best result to date in the NorAm Cup with an overall rank of 30. He achieved his first top ten position in this racing series with sixth place in the sprint in Vernon . In February 2014, he was also used for the first time in the Nordic Scandinavian Cup , but missed the top positions, mainly due to the strong Europeans. In March 2016, Lapointe started for the first time as part of the 2016 World Cup finals in stage races in the cross-country skiing World Cup . A year later, he started in a sprint World Cup for the first time at the dress rehearsal for the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . As 27th, he collected his first four World Cup points, with which he reached 159th place overall. Before the end of the season he also made his debut in the cross-country Alpine Cup in Zwiesel , but did not score any points.

Lapointe is studying biology at the Cégep Garneau College in Québec .
