Simon Moratz

Simon Moratz (born June 5, 1990 in Unterholzhäuseln ) is a German freestyle BMXer .

In 2012 he won the Freedombmx Rider of the Year award in the "Dirt" discipline and in 2012 defeated the four-time X Games dirt winner Corey Bohan at the Vans Dirt & Roll Contest in Jičín , Czech Republic.

biography

education

His training as a carpenter , which he completed as a journeyman at the age of 18 , benefits him in the BMX sector. Since he has been running his own dirt park since the beginning of his career , this makes him a specialist when it comes to creating such parks. Since 2009 Moratz has been traveling all over the world to design, build and drive dirt parks. Since he has gained a lot of experience in this area, he and his team were able to build the course for the 2014 BMX World Championships in Cologne .

Career

Simon Moratz took 3rd place in the amateur class at the Vans Rebeljam 2007 in Berlin and also 3rd place at the German Championship in Mellowpark in Berlin.

In 2008 Felt Bicycles accepted Simon Moratz into their BMX team and is its biggest sponsor. He also drives for the glove manufacturer Troyan Gloves, the shoe company Osiris Shoes, the BMX shop Kunstform ?! and the helmet camera manufacturer Actionpro. He has been on the Monster Energy BMX team since 2012.
