Sina Melissa Siegenthaler (born September 27, 2000 in Schangnau ) is a Swiss snowboarder . She starts in the snowboard cross discipline .

Career

At the beginning of winter 2015/16, Siegenthaler contested her first race in this discipline. After joining the Bern regional squad, further junior FIS and FIS races followed, in March 2016 she made her debut at Lenk (Switzerland) in the European Cup and qualified for the Junior World Championship in Klinovec , Czech Republic . In the 2016/17 season she won junior FIS races for the first time and achieved top 10 places in European Cups. A year later she achieved third place in the overall European Cup standing with various European Cup podiums, became Swiss champion and took part in the Junior World Championship in Cardrona, New Zealand (9th place).

In December 2018, she made her debut in the World Cup in Cervinia , Italy , and finished 5th. This secured her ticket to the World Championship in Park City, USA . There she qualified as 13th for the finals, but fell in the second qualifying run and had to forego the finals and the team event due to a concussion .

She successfully defended her Swiss championship title at the 2019 Swiss Championship at Lenk. At the end of the 2018/19 season, the Junior World Championships took place in Reiteralm (Austria). In the team event, Siegenthaler and Gabriel Zweifel won the silver medal.
