The Sindh Madressatul Islam University ( SMIU ) is recognized by the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan higher educational institution in Karachi , Sindh , Pakistan .

history

The SMIU is one of the oldest institutions in South Asia, starting as a school in 1885, becoming a college in 1943, and a university in February 2012. In the last will of the Pakistani state founder Muhammad Ali Jinnahs (1876–1948) she was given equal shares in Aligarh University (in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh ) and Islamia College Peshawar ( Khyber Pakhtunkhwa , Pakistan).
