The Sine Bolong rises about ten kilometers south of the provincial capital Tambacounda in the Senegalese region of the same name, Tambacounda . The river, with a total length of about 40 kilometers, flows in a south-westerly direction until it crosses the border with Gambia about ten kilometers from its mouth and after another five kilometers in a southerly direction it flows into the Gambia with a width of almost twenty meters.
