Sing and Win! is the name of an Austrian karaoke quiz show that was produced from 2008 to 2009. It is produced by the Austrian private broadcaster ATV and is considered to be the broadcaster's most expensive investment. The Austrian songwriter Rainhard Fendrich , who previously presented long-term programs on the competing channel ORF (including Die Millionenshow and Deal or No Deal ), acts as the moderator .
The third season of the show will follow on September 9, 2008, and in autumn 2008 the Swiss version was shown on 3 Plus TV .
concept
The concept of the series follows the American karaoke show Don't Forget the Lyrics! . At the start of the game, the lyrics of a song are displayed while the melody plays in the background. After a while the text disappears and the music stops. Then the candidate has to continue singing and recite the text without errors. The first round is about completing the words of a musical text, and the finale is about reciting an entire stanza. The game has a total of ten rounds including the final. The highest profit that can be made on a broadcast was € 25,000 in the first season, and € 50,000 since the second. The candidate has three jokers available for difficult tasks.
So far, the show is above the channel average. Therefore ATV commissioned the production of further episodes. In the second season, which started on April 29, 2008, the maximum win was increased to € 50,000. After another successful season, another season was commissioned for autumn 2008, which began on September 9th with an above-average rate of 7.91%. On September 16, 2008, the candidate Alexandra Pötzelsberger won the maximum prize of € 50,000. So she is the only candidate from 15 countries to have achieved the highest profit.

Each candidate may take a maximum of two jokers to the show, which will help them if they don't know what to do next. The candidate is allowed to consult with the joker before singing the correct version of the text and logging in.
- "Multiple Choice" joker
In the case of the multiple choice joker, three possible answers are displayed, which lead to the completion of the text.
- "2 words" wildcard
The candidate is allowed to “swap” two words of the lyrics that he is unsure about in order to correct the performed text. The rest of the text must be correct, however.
