The Singapore Army forms the army component of the Singapore Armed Forces . It comprises 50,000 soldiers , 35,000 of whom are conscripts .

As a reserve stand next to the 25th Division , two coastal defense commands (with twelve infantry brigades) and nine independent infantry brigades available.

In terms of equipment, the Singapore Army had 80 to 100 Centurion main battle tanks, 350 AMX-13-SM1 main battle tanks , 22 AMX-10-PAC-90 - reconnaissance tanks , 250 AMX-10P - infantry fighting vehicles, 250 IFV-40s / -50 armored personnel carriers , 750 M-113A1 / A2 armored personnel carriers , 250 LAV-150 "Commando" / V-200 "Commando" armored personnel carriers , 30 V-100 "Commando" armored personnel carriers , 18 SSPH-1 Primus - self-propelled howitzers and 200 Carl Gustav - anti-tank rifles .

The Singapore Army has also had the Leopard 2 main battle tank since mid-2007 . The used (currently more than 196) Leopard 2A4s come from the Bundeswehr and replace the AMX-13 in active service.
