Modepilot is a German-language fashion blog run by the fashion journalist Kathrin Bierling. The journalist and her freelance authors report daily on innovations from the world of fashion and beauty .

Origin and development

Modepilot was founded in October 2007 by journalists Kathrin Bierling and Barbara Markert . At that time, Kathrin Bierling was working as an editor for the luxury supplement Fivetonine for Wirtschaftswoche. Barbara Markert wrote interviews and designer portraits for German Vogue from Paris.

Kathrin Bierling moved to Munich in 2009, after discontinuing Fivetonine magazine, where she initially worked as an editor for Burda Verlag's InStyle magazine and then headed the e-commerce department of Maendler fashion house . In 2012 she returned to the Burda publishing house back to where the online performances by Elle.de , InStyle.de, Freundin.de , Burdastyle.de and later Harpersbazaar.de expand as a member of the Editorial Board. Barbara Markert is still writing from Paris for German Vogue and the reporter network Weltreporter.net . She left fashion pilot in October 2017.

Kathrin Bierling operates Modepilot independently and independently of a publisher.

Reception in the press

A fashion information and entertainment platform quickly emerged from the test phase, which is quoted again and again by the press and is mentioned in the book "Trendwärts: Erlebnismärkte 2030" by Elke Wenzel. In March 2013, Spiegel TV broadcast a program called "Beruf: Modeblogger", in which Spiegel TV reporter Gudrun Altrogge accompanies fashion blogger Kathrin Bierling at work during the Milan Fashion Week .

subjects

Modepilot reports from Paris Fashion Week , Milan Fashion Week , New York Fashion Week , London Fashion Week and Berlin Fashion Week . The authors introduce new designers and models .
