The AMX-10P is a French amphibious armored personnel carrier and armored personnel carrier with NBC protection . It was manufactured by the armaments company GIAT .

description

The vehicle was introduced into the French army in 1973 to replace the outdated AMX-13 VCI . The main armament is the 20mm M693-F1, also known as the 20mm Tarasque .

The AMX-10P was or is used by several countries: Greece (now withdrawn), Indonesia , Iraq , Mexico , Qatar , Saudi Arabia , Singapore , the United Arab Emirates .

At the end of 2015, the French armed forces no longer had any vehicles of this type. They were replaced by the véhicule blindé de combat de l'infanterie ( VBCI ).

  • AMX-10P : variant with MILAN or HOT ATGM rocket launcher
  • AMX-10P / Milan : equipped with two ATGM rocket launchers
  • AMX / HOT : four ATGM rocket launchers (with Toucan II turret)
  • AMX-10 TM : 120mm RT-61 mortar
  • AMX-10 PAC 90 : equipped with a Giat 90 mm cannon for fighting tanks
  • AMX-10P Marine : Variant with improved swimming properties, equipped with a 12.7 mm, 25 mm or a 90 mm cannon
  • AMX-10 PC : command car
  • AMX-10 RC : all-wheel drive (6 × 6) instead of caterpillars ; equipped with a 105 mm cannon
