The Singer 1½ liter Le Mans is a roadster that the British automobile manufacturer Singer produced from 1935 to 1936 as a larger addition to the 9 Le Mans .
The design corresponded to that of 9 Le Mans, but the wheelbase with 2756 mm and track with 1321 mm were significantly larger. The name "Le Mans" was intended to commemorate the success of the Model 9 Sports in the 1933 Le Mans 24-hour race .
The six-cylinder in - line engine had a displacement of 1493 cm³ displacement (bore × stroke = 59 mm × 91 mm) with an overhead camshaft and - ventilated by three SU carburettors - achieved 48 bhp (35 kW) at 4600 rpm. The sports car reached a top speed of 134.6 km / h.
At the end of 1936, the production of the Le Mans models was stopped. The 1½ liter did not have a successor - together with the model 16 built at the same time, it was the brand's last six-cylinder model .
