Sint-Martinusprijs Kontich
The Sint-Martinusprijs Kontich is a Belgian stage race for male juniors that is held annually in mid-July.
The race is organized by the Kontich cycling club Steeds voraan , which was initially founded as a fan club for local rider Jules Mertens. The first event took place in 1964, the first winner was Gregoire Van Kuyck, who two years later died in a race. The following year, the competition was advertised internationally and has been part of the UCI calendar since 1991 . From 1995 to 1973 the Sint-Martinusprijs was held as a three-day race, from 1974 to 2000 as a two-day competition. The race has been going on for four days since 2001. It is the only international race of this category (2.1MJ) in Belgium.
