Otto Vergaerde (born July 15, 1994 in Gent ) is a Belgian racing cyclist who is active on track and road .

Athletic career

Otto Vergaerde was twice the road champion of East Flanders , 2010 in the youth class and 2012 as a junior. At the 2011 European Track Championships for Juniors, he finished third in the two-man team (Madison), together with Jonas Rickaert . In the following year, Rickaert and Vergaerde became joint junior world champions in the same discipline.

From 2013 Vergaerde started in the elite class and finished second in the scratch and second place in the points race at Belgian track championships as well as in the two-man team race together with Rickaert. In 2014 he started at the European Rail Championships in Guadeloupe . He won gold in the scratch and silver in the Madison (with Kenny De Ketele ); in the points race, he finished fourth. At the 2015 Track World Championships , he and Jasper De Buyst came third in the two-man team.
