Mathias Wichmann Krigbaum (born February 3, 1995 in Copenhagen ) is a former Danish cyclist who was active on track and road .

Athletic career

In 2010 Mathias Krigbaum was the Danish junior runner-up in the team pursuit , and he came third in the single pursuit . The following year, he finished third in the national championship in a two-man team race with Rasmus Lund Hestbek .

In 2012, Krigbaum was three-time Danish junior champion in team pursuit, together with Jonas Poulsen , Patrick Olesen and Nicklas Bøje-Pedersen , in the points race and in the Omnium . In the same year he became two-time junior European champion: in the team pursuit on the track, with Mathias Møller Nielsen , Elias Helleskov Busk and Jonas Poulsen, and in the Dutch Goes in the individual time trial on the road. In addition, he was runner-up in the two-man team driving with Poulsen.

At the road world championships for juniors in Valkenburg , he finished fifth in the individual time trial. He also finished second in the Juniors' Lower Saxony Tour after winning a stage in the race. In November he was nominated for the elite track cycling world cup in Glasgow , where he finished twelfth in the Omnium,

In 2013 Mathias Krigbaum won the Sint-Martinusprijs Kontich in Belgium. At the European Junior Championships on the road, he finished ninth in the individual time trial. In August he and Jonas Poulsen became Junior World Champion in two-man team driving. At the UCI Road World Championships in 2013 , he finished second in the junior individual time trial.

In 2017, Krigbaum became Danish champion in two-man team driving together with Julius Johansen . He ended his cycling career at the end of 2019.
