Sinus Honoris - Latin for Bay of Honor - is an offshoot of the Mare Tranquillitatis on the earth-facing side of the moon . The name was given by the International Astronomical Union in 1976.
The dark gray basalt surface of the solidified lava lake has an average diameter of 110 kilometers. The bay is located on the north-western edge of the Mare Tranquillitatis at the mean selenographic coordinates 12 ° north and 18 ° east. The Haemus Mountains rise up in the northern neighborhood .
