Sinus Fidei ( Latin for Bay of Faith ) is a small maritime formation at the Mare Vaporum on the Earth-facing side of the moon . The name was given by the International Astronomical Union in 1976.

The dark gray basalt surface of the solidified lava lake has an average diameter of 70 kilometers. The bay is located on the northern edge of the Mare Vaporum at the mean selenographic coordinates 18.0 ° north and 2.0 ° east. It borders north to west on the Lunar Alps . In their eastern neighborhood is the Lacus Felicitatis .
