AB Sirijus was an electronics manufacturer in the Lithuanian port city of Klaipėda . In addition to batteries , galvanic cells were produced.
history
In 1931 the company "Syrius" was founded in Kaunas to manufacture batteries. It was destroyed in World War II. In 1945 a factory was built, which continued to operate in Klaipėda in August 1945. In 1981, the production was worth 26.5 million rubles . 33% of production was exported. From November 16, 1990 to November 17, 1993 there was Valstybinė elementų ir baterijų gamykla "Sirijus" . From November 17, 1993 to March 26, 2003 Akcinė bendrovė gave "Sirijus". In 1996 bankruptcy proceedings were opened in the Klaipėda District Court . The company owed around 11 million euros (4 million euros to Valstybinė mokesčių inspekcija , 1.1 million euros to " SoDra ", 3 million euros to AB "Vakarų bankas", 800,000 Lt to the Ministry of Finance (Lithuania) ). In 2001 the new company UAB "Naujasis Sirijus" was founded. After the bankruptcy, the operating territory remained polluted.
