Sitara-i-Imtiaz

The Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Urdu: ستارۂ امتياز), also known as the Sitara-e-Imtiaz, is the third highest honor and civil honor in Pakistan . The award recognizes people who have made a special contribution to security or the national interests of Pakistan, world peace and other endeavors.

Overview

The Sitara-i-Imtiaz is not only reserved for Pakistani citizens, but can also be given to foreigners for their work in the world. The award is often given in honor of the Pakistani Army in recognition of their service to Pakistan. The award is very prestigious and is only given for a large contribution to Pakistan. By awarding the prize to personalities from the fields of sport, literature, medicine and science, the reputation of Pakistan in the world is increased. The award is given to individuals who perform their extraordinary duties. In the military, Pakistani officers can receive the Sitara-i-Imtiaz with the rank of Brigadier or General in the Pakistani Army, Air Commander or Marshal in the Pakistani Air Force and Commodore or Admiral in the Pakistan Navy, the Pakistan Coast Guard and the Pakistan Marines . The Awards Commission will select the recipients of the Sitara-i-Imtiaz and inform the Prime Minister accordingly. A ceremony will then be organized by the President and will be broadcast on state television. The award is given individually to honor each recipient individually.

The Sitara-i-Imtiaz shows a jasmine , which stands between two and five stars and is made of gold. The star has the shape of a pentagon. In the center of the star is a green emerald that fills the star. There is a small golden star in the emerald. The Sitara-i-Imtiaz hangs on a bow in dark green with a yellow and white stripe and stripes on the edges. The Sitara-i-Imtiaz is worn in a larger version as a star on the chest. In addition, the Sitara-e-Imtiaz is worn as a sash on the right shoulder. Both versions can be worn at the official ceremony, depending on the performance of the recipient.
