Sittin 'In With was an American independent label that existed from 1948 to 1952.

The independent music label Sittin 'In With was founded in 1948 by Morty and Bob Shad in New York City; first release was a 78 by Chu Berry with Charlie Ventura ( Dream Girl ). This was followed by further jazz recordings by Buddy Stewart , Stan Getz , Wardell Gray , John Hardee , Dave Lambert , Al Haig , Big John Greer , Ray Abrams , Beryl Booker , Earl Coleman and Julian Dash , which however had only moderate success; In 1950/51, Bob Shad traveled to the southern United States to meet rhythm and blues and blues musicians such as Lightnin 'Hopkins , Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee , Ray Charles ( Baby Let Me Hear You Call My Name ), Peppermint Harris , To include Smokey Hogg and Champion Jack Dupree . James Wayne's debut single , Tend to Your Business , reached # 2 on the Billboard R&B chart in 1951. In total, around 1500 pages of blues, folk and jazz music were produced for the Sittin 'In With label by 1953.
