The Sjøneset (Norwegian for lakefront ) is a prominent and rocky mountain ridge in Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . In the Otto von Gruber Mountains of the Wohlthat massif , it extends along the eastern flank of the Anutschin Glacier in a northerly direction towards the Obersee .
It was discovered and mapped using aerial photographs by participants in the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 under the direction of polar explorer Alfred Ritscher . Norwegian cartographers, who also named it, mapped it on the basis of aerial photographs and measurements of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
