Sjoerd H. Scheenstra (born October 28, 1933 in Steenwijkerwold ) is a Dutch politician of the CHU and later the CDA .

Career

Scheenstra was from 1963 to 1967 chief commissioner in the municipality of Zaandam . From 1963 to 1979 he was mayor of the communities Asperen and Heukelum; both are now part of the community of Lingewaal . From October 1979 until his retirement in November 1998 he was mayor of Oegstgeest .
