The Skagafjörður is a fjord in the north-west of Iceland .

The approximately 40 km long and up to 46 km wide fjord of the Greenland Sea lies between the large peninsulas Skagi ( Icelandic peninsula ) and Tröllaskagi (Icelandic Troll peninsula ). The river Héraðsvötn , which flows down from the highlands, flows into this fjord with two arms. The town of Sauðárkrókur is located in the southwest of the fjord and Hofsós is on the east coast . There are some islands in the fjord such as Lundey , Drangey and Málmey . From the fjord, the municipality of the same name, Skagafjörður, extends far south into the country and it is even one of the largest valleys in Iceland (5 to 10 km wide and around 35 km long).

The Siglufjarðarvegur runs along the east bank, S76Sauðárkróksbraut (road 75) on the south coast, and the Reykjastrandarvegur (road 748) and Skagavegur (road 745) strait around the Skagi peninsula.
