Skandar Keynes

Skandar Amin Casper Keynes (born September 5, 1991 in London ) is a former British film actor . He is known for his role as Edmund Pevensie in the literary film adaptation The Chronicles of Narnia .

Life

Keynes was born in London to the author Randal Keynes and Zelfa Cecil Hourani from Lebanon . The name Skandar is an Arabic variant of Alexander . His older sister, Soumaya, can be heard on BBC Radio 4 . He is a great-great-grandson of the scientist Charles Darwin and great-grandson of Geoffrey Keynes ; his great-grandfather Edgar Adrian won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1932 .

Skandar made his film debut in 2003 at the age of 12 in the film adaptation of the life of Enzo Ferrari . In " Ferrari " he portrayed the young racing driver.

He gained greater fame in 2005 as Edmund Pevensie, one of the four leading roles in The Chronicles of Narnia: The King of Narnia . Since his voice was broken at the time, his sister Soumaya Keynes had to dub some of his role. This was followed by the two sequels The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian of Narnia in July 2008 and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Journey on the Dawn at the end of December 2010, in which he took up this role again.

Between 2000 and 2005 Skandar graduated from the Anna Scher Theater School in Islington , a borough of London. He then attended the City of London School for Boys. From 2010 to 2014 Keynes studied Arabic, Persian and Middle Eastern history at the University of Cambridge .

Keynes announced in 2016 that he was ending his acting career. He is now a member of parliament for Conservative MP Crispin Blunt .
