The agricultural and folklore open-air museum Skanzen Vysoký Chlumec in Vysoký Chlumec is a branch of the mining museum Hornické muzeum Příbram about 35 east of Příbram . It was founded in 1999 on an area of 3 hectares acquired by the Hornické Mining Museum the year before. It is located in the upper part of the Vysoký (high) Chlumec valley in the region of the central Vltava valley . The area of the central Vltava valley is in Central Bohemiaunique with its large number of preserved village buildings from the 18th to the beginning of the 20th century. Exceptions can also be older, e.g. B. the stone building elements from the late Middle Ages on a stone gate from the 17th century. This region offers interesting types of farmhouses from the Berounka river basin and the Central Bohemian hill country with many characteristic features on which it is possible the influence of the surrounding region to assign to the architectural style. It is the task of the museum to preserve some of these objects of the regional rural architecture, as they disappear from the landscape with increasing speed. In 2015 the museum counted several farmhouses, two granaries, a sawmill, a beekeeping, dovecotes, barns, a water mill , a wooden piston pump , a milestone and several crosses. 20 to 25 converted buildings are planned for the final state .

The museum is open in summer and regularly organizes events during this time.
