Skaos is a ska band from Germany . It was founded in 1982 in Krumbach near Günzburg in Bavaria .

Band history

The seven-member band was formed in 1982 in Krumbach. First, they played only cover versions of their British Ska -Vorbilder as Madness and the Specials . She had her first appearance on TomTom Haldenwang in 1987. It took five years for her first release - the EP Inside (1987). A year later, the British label Unicorn Records released their debut album Beware.

The band plays very often at concerts, not only in Germany, but all over Europe . In 1989 the band switched to the Berlin label Pork Pie . The line-up changed frequently, but the number of musicians remained constant. After the album Catch This Beat (1989), the band took a five-year break without any concerts. In 1995 the band released Back to Live, two years later the album Ham & Eggs. Numerous tours follow again .

After the fifth album, Porno 75 , was released in 2000 , the group went on a European tour again. Live recordings of their performances during this time served as the basis for their sixth album, entitled Breaking the Curfew (2002). Also in 2000, alongside the bands Jogit Beat and Junk Pile , Skaos contributed two pieces to the soundtrack of Didi Wallauer's surfer film Ride On : Ride On and Hang Loose . In early 2005, her album was released with the title Pocomania. A tour through Japan followed, and concerts a. a. in Finland and the United Kingdom. In 2014 their album "MORE FIRE" was released with which the band toured again through Germany and Europe. The band continues to make guest appearances at relevant festivals and make their audience sweat in tight clubs.
