Scheel (noble family)
Scheel , also Skeel , is the name of an old Danish noble family .
history
The family belongs to the Danish nobility and can be traced back to Johannes Skeel, who was documented in 1366 . From the second half of the 16th century, the family gained a great reputation in Denmark. From around 1700 it used mainly the German form of the name with Scheel . It was raised to the Danish baron and count status. The Count's line received the title of Scheelenburg from the property of the same name in Funen Abbey .
Scheel von Plessen
After Christian Ludwig von Plessen's marriage to Charlotte Amalie Scheel, the names and coats of arms were united and the Scheel von Plessen line was founded in the Primogenitur .

The family coat of arms has a shield that is divided transversely and lengthways in the upper half. Above it is silver on the right and red on the left, blue below.
Count's coat of arms
The count's coat of arms has a central shield in which two geese hold a ring.
In the coat of arms of the Counts of Scheel-Plessen, the center shield in gold on a green ground shows the black Plessen bull.
