Skeletons ( English , Skeletons') is a song of Azerbaijani singer Dihaj , with whom she Azerbaijan in Euro Vision Song Contest 2017 took.

On December 5, 2016 it was announced that the singer Diana Hacıyeva would compete under her stage name Dihaj for Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev . On March 11, 2017, the song was published for the first time by CAP-Sounds, including a music video, it was officially released four days later on March 15.

The lyrics for Skeletons are by the Swede Sandra Bjurman and the singer herself. The former has already written numerous Azerbaijani contributions for the Eurovision Song Contest, including Running Scared and Drip Drop . The song is about the singer's romantic relationships and the difficulties that arise from them. Dihaj herself says she wanted to provoke with the song title "Skeletons". It is important to be heard in the world, whether you are different or not.

The song was composed by the Azerbaijani composer Isa Melikov. He was already responsible for Azerbaijan's winning title at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest . In the stanzas of Skeletons there is a mystical, spherical sound that is typical of Dihaj. There is a break in the chorus and the song becomes catchier again.

At the Eurovision Song Contest

On January 31, 2017, Azerbaijan was drawn into the first half of the first semi-final. On March 31, 2017, the starting order was published. Dihaj qualified with Skeletons on May 9th from start number 8 with place 8 for the final on May 13th, where she finished 14th.
