business

In the summer months the Gosaukammbahn operates in Gosau Hintertal, the Hornbahn in Russbach and the Donnerkogelbahn in Astauwinkel. Winter operation takes place from the beginning of December to Easter.

Investments

Some changes have been made over time. In 2004, a monocable gondola (Panoramajet) was built up to the Zwieselalm . The lift replaced two double chairlifts . A six-seater chairlift (Hornspitz Express 2) was also built from the middle station to the Hornspitz summit. This system in turn replaced two tow lifts . A year later, the slope on the Zwieselalm valley run was modified.

In 2009, a snowmaking storage facility with a capacity of 56,000 m³ was built on the Hornspitz , as was a Technoalpin snow system . With it, the entire slope area on the Gosau Hornspitz side can be covered with snow. In the following year, the six-seater chairlift of the Edtalmbahn was rebuilt and replaced the tow lift of the same name , the Haideggriedl lift was abandoned without replacement after the fun park was relocated to the Edtalmbahn. In 2011, the valley run on the Zwieselalm panorama jet was supplemented by a slight bypass in the lower area of the piste and the snow lances in this area were supplemented by snow cannons . The Riedelkar double chairlift in Astauwinkel was replaced by a single-cable gondola (Donnerkogelbahn) in 2014 thanks to the funding commitment from the State of Salzburg, € 7 million, while the adjacent pommel lift was dismantled (the lower section of the Donnerkogelbahn takes over its task). A one-sided middle station was built into the monocable gondola (Panoramajet), whereby the direction of rotation of the gondola was reversed. The Sanhof lift in Rußbach was abandoned. For the 2017/2018 season, the Horn lifts 1 and 2, the Strubgelift, the Gletscherblick lift and the Riedlgrat lift were given up. In winter 2012/13 over 400,000 guests were welcomed to the ski region.

In 2015, 2016 and 2017 € 8.8 million will be invested in two snow-making ponds and in snow-making systems on the Zwieselalm and Edtalm.

The snowmaking store at Edtlam was not approved in 2017 for nature conservation reasons. An alternative location was found at the Franzalm in Russbach and the Angerlam in Annaberg. The Angeralm reservoir, which has a capacity of 150,000 m³ of water, was put into operation in November 2019. It is unclear when the Franzlalm reservoir will be built.
