Fageralm (Forstau)

The Fageralm in the community of Forstau is a ski area that belongs to the Schladming – Dachstein ski region of the Salzburg Ski amadé winter sports area. It is located on the north side of the eponymous summits Vorderer Fager, Mitterer Fager and Hinterer Fager. The valley station of the ski area is located immediately west of Forstau at an altitude of 935 meters; from there the ski area extends to an altitude of 1855 meters.

The Fageralm together with the Reiteralm in Pichl-Preunegg to the east form the Reiteralm / Fageralm ski area.

Lift operation

The Fageralm has:

  • two double chairlifts (Forstaubahn, Jägerlift)
  • four drag lifts (Vorderfager I and II, Mitterfager, Hinterfager)
  • a practice lift in the valley

Slopes offer

The range of slopes at the Fageralm is aimed primarily at families and advanced beginners. The total length of all ski slopes is approximately twelve kilometers, almost all of which are marked in blue . The valley run is classified as a medium-difficulty slope, but can be bypassed using a pull-way. There are no black slopes in the area.

There is also a speed measurement track, a race track with time measurement, a boardercross track and three pull paths with figures on various topics in the ski area.

Others

At the highest point of the ski area there is a vantage point from which you can see the northern Taurach Valley .

Next to the Hinterfager tow lift is a test track from the ski manufacturer Atomic .
