Pichl-Preunegg is a former Austrian municipality with 905 inhabitants (as of October 31, 2013) in the Gröbming branch in the Liezen district ( Schladming judicial district ) in Styria . As part of the Styrian community structure reform in Styria, it has been merged with the communities of Schladming and Rohrmoos-Untertal since 2015 , the new community will continue to be called Stadtgemeinde Schladming. The basis for this is the Styrian Municipal Structural Reform Act - StGsrG. A complaint by the municipalities of Pichl-Preunegg and Rohrmoos-Untertal against the merger at the Constitutional Court was unsuccessful.

The municipality comprised the following three localities (population in brackets as of October 31, 2011):
- Gluing (152)
- Pichl (642)
- Preunegg (146)
The community consisted of the two cadastral communities Pichl and Preunegg.
Incorporations
As part of the structural reform of the Styrian community , the community of Pichl-Preunegg was merged with the communities of Schladming and Rohrmoos-Untertal on January 1st, 2015 .
history
The abolition of the manorial lords took place in 1848. The local community as an autonomous body was established in 1850. After the annexation of Austria in 1938, the community came to the Reichsgau Steiermark, 1945 to 1955 it was part of the British zone of occupation in Austria.

Siegfried Keinprecht (ÖVP) was the mayor until the municipality was dissolved on December 31, 2014.
The council continued after the municipal elections of 2010 by then as follows:
6 ÖVP , 1 SPO and 2 FPÖ .

The municipal coat of arms was awarded with effect from October 1, 1987.
