Skjonghelleren (also called Daumannshelleren ) is a cave on the island of Valderøya in the Fylke Møre og Romsdal in Norway .

At 70 meters, it is one of the largest caves on the west coast of Norway. The lower part of the cave is covered with around 20 meters of loose rock that contains several layers of ice age deposits. There are up to 30,000 year old bones of birds and other animals in the cave. These are among the oldest animal bone finds in Norway. Among these finds, the remains of crab divers and beak-billed mummies are the most common. In addition, the remains of were seals identified. Finds of stone tools, fire pits and bones from fish, game and farm animals indicate that the cave has been used by humans since the Older Iron Age. The Older Iron Age in Norway spans the period from 500 BC. BC to 550 AD and differs from the Central European era.
