Smygehuk is a port and the southernmost mainland point of Sweden and the Scandinavian peninsula . It is located in the southern Swedish municipality of Trelleborg near the town of Smygehamn in Skåne . The distance between Smygehuk and Treriksröset , Sweden's northernmost point, is 1,572 km.

At the harbor there is a statue of Axel Ebbe and a small memorial for "Akka von Kebnekaise", the lead goose from Selma Lagerlöf's novel Nils Holgersson , in the last chapter of which the harbor is described.

The lighthouse has been in operation again since 2001; the former home of the lighthouse keeper now serves as a youth hostel .

The prehistoric grave complex Bålhög is located a little east of the harbor .
