Wieker Bodden
The Wieker Bodden is a lagoon that is largely enclosed by the island of Rügen . It is one of the North Rügen Bodden .
Geographical location
The Wieker Bodden lies between the Bug peninsula in the west and the main part of the Wittow peninsula in the north and east. In the south, the Bodden borders the Rassower Strom , which connects the Vitter Bodden in the west with the Great Jasmunder Bodden in the east .
Adjacent communities
The bay got its name from the neighboring village of Wiek . In addition to Wiek, there is also Dranske as a larger town on Wieker Bodden.
Wiek loading ramp
In Wiek, the construction of a loading bridge for the shipment of chalk had already begun before the First World War . The bridge is still preserved and has been restored.

In the northern part of the bay is very flat and therefore very popular with windsurfers and kite surfers .
