The Snønutane ( Norwegian for snow peaks ) are a group of mountain peaks in Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . They rise from the inland ice immediately east of Snøbjørga in the Mühlig-Hofmann Mountains .
Norwegian cartographers gave the group a descriptive name and mapped it on the basis of surveys and aerial photographs of the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960).
