Giorgos Antoniou

Giorgos Antoniou (* 1970 in Athens ) is a Greek jazz musician ( double bass ).

Career

Antoniou has lived in Switzerland since 1994 and is a graduate of the Swiss Jazz School . He was one of the bands of Joe Haider , Sandy Patton , the Jérôme de Carli Trio and the Steamboat Rats . He also toured with Johnny Griffin , Clark Terry , Bobby Shew , Bob Mintzer and John Lewis . As a member of the Swiss Jazz School Big Band , he played at the jazz festivals in Montreux and Bern . He was also a member of the 676 Tango Quintet led by Daniel Zisman (with whom he performed at the Thun Castle Concerts in 2001 and 2002 at the Bern studio concerts in the Bern radio studio ).

He also accompanied Cedar Walton , Benny Golson , Alvin Queen , Billy Hart , Bobby Durham , Dado Moroni , Roy Hargrove , Terell Stafford , Scott Hamilton , Benny Green , Kirk Lightsey , Brad Leali and Roberta Gambarini . He can also be heard on records by Joe Haider, Claus Raible , Martin Dahanukar, Nick Perrin, Daniel Blanc, the Steamboat Rats and the Sinatra Tribute Band with Max Neissendorfer .
