Alessa Records is an independent music label founded by Peter Guschelbauer in Austria in 2004 , which primarily markets jazz recordings .

history

After 30 years in the music business, Guschelbauer decided to found his own jazz label with a clear profile. The name Alessa Records is derived from the nickname of his daughter Alexandra (who was 18 months old when the label was founded). Guschelbauer also runs a recording studio in Hagenberg in the Mühlkreis district , other labels such as PG Records , a music publisher ( Sounddesign Austria ) and sales.

First productions were albums by John Abercrombie and Uri Caine . European musicians like Kristina Barta , Stefano Battaglia , Christoph Cech , Agnes Heginger , Peter Herbert , Helmut Kagerer , Olga Konkova , Anna Lauvergnac , Per Mathisen, Karlheinz Miklin , Tamara Obrovac , Johannes Ochsenbauer, Jure Pukl , Claus Raible , Harry are on the label Sokal or Paul Zauner as well as the Americans Alex Acuña , George Braith , Leopoldo Fleming , Vincent Herring , Don Menza , Andy Middleton , Gust Tsilis and John B. Williams . The label also has blues & roots music , world music and some classical productions in the catalog .
