Snake Ridge ( English for snake back is) a 6 km long and tortuous mountain ridge in the West Antarctic Queen Elizabeth Land . In the Patuxent Range of the Pensacola Mountains , it borders the northwestern extension of the Mackin Table .
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) mapped it on the basis of the United States Navy's own measurements and aerial photographs from 1956 to 1966. The mountain ridge was given its descriptive name at the suggestion of the US geologist Dwight L. Schmidt of the USGS, who between 1962 and served in three campaigns in the Pensacola Mountains in 1966.
