Snaresbrook is an above-ground London Underground station in the London Borough of Redbridge . It is in the Travelcard tariff zone 4 on the High Street. In 2013, 2.59 million passengers used this station served by the Central Line .

The station was opened on August 22, 1856 by the Eastern Counties Railway (ECR), as part of the newly built line from Stratford to Loughton , which was extended to Ongar nine years later . In 1862 the ECR became part of the Great Eastern Railway , which in turn became part of the London and North Eastern Railway in 1923 . After some structural adjustments, the Central Line metro trains for the first time on December 14, 1947.

The station, partially rebuilt in 1893, is a typical example of Victorian railway architecture, with a main building made of brick and platform roofs made of cast iron and wood. An additional ticket booth was built on the western platform in 1948, but it is no longer in use.
