At 226 m, Snipe Peak is the highest mountain on Moe Island in the archipelago of the South Orkney Islands .
Scientists from the British Discovery Investigations carried out initial surveys in 1933. It was named at the suggestion of Gordon de Quetteville Robin (1921-2004) from the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey after measurements carried out by him in 1947. HMS Snipe , a sloop of the Royal Navy , which Moe Island first called in February 1948, is named after it .
