The Société nationale des poudres et des explosifs , abbreviated to Groupe SNPE , was a French arms company that went back to the French powder monopoly from 1336. In 2007 it was split into

  • Energetic materials ( Eurenco for explosives, SME for solid rocket fuels (today SAFRAN Herakles ), Roxel for rocket motors)
  • Civil explosives ( Nobel Explosif France, Bergerac NitroCellulose , Durlin )
  • Fine chemicals ( Isochem )

In 2013, all remnants of the company were taken over by Nexter .

The Groupe SNPE had factories in Saint-Médard-en-Jalles , Vert-le-Petit , Bergerac , Sorgues , Toulouse , Angoulême , Pithiviers , Pont-de-Claix and Gennevilliers .
