Sociedad FB7

The Sociedad FB7 (pronounced: sosiedad efebesiete) is a Colombian hip-hop group. It consists of the rapper Medina Oxoc, the producers Lupa and DJ Luigi and the breakdancer Edwin Jiménez.

Origin and history

The group was formed in the Colombian city of Medellín in the early 1990s . At that time, American hip hop culture hit the streets of many other South American countries. In the midst of poverty, violence and discrimination, the young people formed the Sociedad FB7 (Society FB7) to draw attention to grievances with their music. In 2005 they made a tour through Germany. Most of them appeared in schools where Spanish, the national language of Colombia, is taught. They performed in Bremen , Hamburg and Stuttgart , among others .
