Soetkin Elbers

Soetkin Elbers (* 1986 in Brussels ) is a Belgian soprano .

Life

Soetkin Elbers studied singing at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel with the Austrian mezzo-soprano Dina Grossberger and at the Vienna Conservatory with the German countertenor Kai Wessel .

Elbers played Dorinda in Orlando by Handel, Amour / Céphise in Pigmalion by Rameau with the L'Orfeo Barockorchester under Michi Gaigg , Tebaldo in Verdi's Don Carlo, and La Feu / La Princesse / Le Rossigno in L'Enfant et Le Sortilèges by Ravel. She also sang contemporary operas by young composers such as Ole Hübner and Wen Liu.

Soetkin Elbers has been moderating the monthly show Brussels Central on ByteFM since 2014 , in which she presents music from Belgium.

In 2015 Elbers began to collaborate with the German band Alphawezen . This collaboration resulted in the single My Funny Valentine , which was released in February 2016. In 2016 Elbers also released an album La Muse et la Mise with the Belgian baroque ensemble RedHerring.
