Sofia Shinas (born January 17, 1968 in Windsor , Ontario , Canada) is a Canadian singer, songwriter and actress.

Life

Shinas was born in Windsor in 1968. In 1992 she released her debut album Sofia Shinas on the Warner Bros. Records label . From this the singles One Last Kiss , State Of Mind (You Make Me Feel Good) and The Message were decoupled and landed high in the charts.

After some time of musical success, she left the world of pop songs and began her acting career. In 1993 she played the role of the slain Shelly Webster in the film The Crow . On March 31, 1993, she shot her death scene with Brandon Lee , who also passed away that day.

Some time after the release of The Crow , she starred alongside Charlie Sheen and Nastassja Kinski in the action thriller Deadly Speed .

In 1995 she was seen in the independent film Im Netz der Verführung . In addition to film appearances, she had some series appearances in series such as Outer Limits - The Unknown Dimension or Desire - The Hunger .

In 2000, she starred in the film Red Shoe Diaries 12: Girl on a Bike . In the 2004 film Planet of the Pitts , she made her last major film appearance in the role of Fay Kennedy as NBC news anchor.

For some time she has been working on a few short films for the USC School of Cinema-Television with some young talents.
