SoftwareONE is a software portfolio management and software licensing company. The company advises customers on the management and organization of their software licenses. The own platform PyraCloud serves to provide transparency about the software licenses and contracts. The company has been listed on the SIX Swiss Exchange since October 2019 .
history
The company was founded in 2000 by Daniel von Stockar and Patrick Winter under the name Softwarepipeline in Zurich . Five years later, the software pipeline merged with the Stans-based competitor Microware , which René Gilli founded in 1992. In 2006, the US software licensing company SoftwareONE , which had been founded in 1985, was taken over. The company adopted this name and Beat Curti became a partner at the same time .
The private equity firm KKR acquired 25% of the shares in SoftwareONE in August 2015.
After the death of CEO and co-founder Patrick Winter in summer 2018, Dieter Schlosser took over the operational management as CEO.
At the beginning of October 2018, SoftwareONE took over all shares in Comparex AG in Leipzig .
On October 25, 2019 was the IPO of the company on the SIX Swiss Exchange instead. The company placed a total of 38.5 million shares from the holdings of the investors KKR, Peruni Holding as well as employees and other shareholders. The free float was then 24.3 percent, the market capitalization just under 2.9 billion francs. The founding shareholders Daniel von Stockar, Beat Curti and René Gilli retained a stake of 30.9 percent even after the IPO.
