history
Its turquoise-blue color has already inspired the Bavarian King Ludwig II : he had the Soiernhäuser built on its banks , the upper one he lived in for days in summer. The Soiernhaus is about 70 meters above the lakes, so that the king could look down on them. For the servants he had accommodations and stables for the horses built right on the bank. The king used the lakes for night trips in a boat that had to laboriously transport his entourage up the mountain. For his birthday he had mountain fires lit around the lakes, which were reflected in the water.
