Soilent Green (German band)
Soilent Green from Hamburg was a heavy metal band founded in 1983 by Uwe Främcke and Wolf Rambatz and one of the first of its kind to work with German-language texts. The band called their style "dirty metal". Singer and front man Michael Kalks (called "Soilent Michi") shaped the appearance of the musicians.
With the second line-up, their first LP called "Soilent Green" was released (1986). A maxi single with the title “TV-Rocker” followed in 1987. Soilent Green set various poems by Erich Mühsam to music and appeared in “Kunststück” in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel . She then became the "house band" of the Hamburg Greens .
In 1989 the band broke up.
