Solís de Mataojo is a city in Uruguay .
geography
It is located in the south of the Lavalleja Department in its 2nd sector near the border with the neighboring Canelones and Maldonado departments . The distance to the state capital Montevideo is about 80 kilometers. The Ruta 8 leading through the village is located here at kilometer 82. West of the city runs the Arroyo Solís Grande .
history
The city was founded on August 12, 1874 by Lázaro Cabrera . On October 15, 1963, they were classified in the “ Villa ” category by Act No. 13.167 .
