Edward Solomon "Sol" Butler (born March 3, 1895 in Hutchinson , Kansas , † December 1, 1954 in Chicago ) was an American long jumper .

In 1919 he won the Allied Games.

In 1920 he became US champion with his personal best of 7.52 m and traveled as a favorite to the Olympic Games in Antwerp . On his first attempt, however, he suffered a torn tendon and had to end the competition; with 6.60 m he was seventh.
